A press release from the conference said, “We are providing our priority support to help with connectivity, transparency, coordination and support for an accountable Somali security sector.”
The countries that participated in this meeting welcomed the plan for the development of the security sector that was presented in this meeting, which includes the building of quality security forces and institutions.
The participants underlined that the Somali Security Forces (SSF) will face different demands at the same time, which will require external support to address critical gaps during the transition period.
Somalia, which has recently been lifted from the arms embargo, is preparing to establish an armed force to defeat Al-Shabaab and ensure the security and stability of the country.
