More news is coming out of an artillery attack that Al-Shabaab carried out in the afternoon of yesterday in the defense areas of Baidoa city, the capital of Bay region.
Members of the Al-Shabaab group have launched a direct attack on government and South West military bases in Wargaduud and Xanano areas in the North of Baidoa.
The attack there between the government forces and those from the South West side and Al-Shabaab is said to have lasted for about two hours.
Officials from the government forces said that the group defended themselves from the attack and caused damage to the attackers.
The Al-Shabaab group claimed success in the attack they carried out in the areas of Wargaduud and Hanano, and claimed to have killed many soldiers in the attack, but did not say how many they killed.
The battle that took place in the North of Baidoa is coming, the South West is one of the areas where Al-Shabaab is still strong.
