Two projects costing $11.4 million by the Federal Government of Somalia have started their implementation.

The Federal Government of Somalia has launched a new project aimed at strengthening emergency medical services in hospitals at the federal and regional levels.

With a budget of $11.4 million, the World Bank is investing in this project which coincides with the health system of the country dealing with many problems.

This project named ‘Strengthening of Emergency Medical Services in Federal and State Hospitals’ will be commissioned by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“We have started important work to strengthen emergency health care in Somalia through the Somalia Crisis Recovery Project. By improving facilities, training staff and connecting health services, we are building a sustainable capacity to respond to health problems and serve citizens across the country.

This support will have a significant impact on the health care system in Somalia now and in the future,” said Abdi Tawane, Director of the Somalia Crisis Recovery Project.

The government of Somalia said that this project is a comprehensive program that supports recovery from disasters by promoting resilience in the future.

The project aims to lay the foundation for health care throughout the country and to support the basic health rights of all Somalis in this difficult situation.
