The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today held a meeting with the former President of the Government of Somalia, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
President Hassan Sheikh has shared with the former president of the country, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, his government’s efforts to rehabilitate the Somali armed forces to eradicate Al-Shabaab.
Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed on his part thanked the president of the federal government for the consultation meeting and the reception he gave to the presidential office of Somalia.
Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed also wished the Somali government and people progress and unity, according to a statement issued by the country’s presidency.
This meeting is coming up, as reports say that President Hassan Sheikh has extended an invitation to the political stakeholders of Somalia, especially the members who were members of the Union of Candidates during the Farmajo government.
