An attack by Al-Shabaab terrorists in Lamu, Kenya killed five people.

At least five people were killed and many houses were burnt in an attack by the Al Shabaab group on the villages of Salama and Juhudi in Mkunumbi division of Lamu region in Kenya.

Eyewitnesses and the police said that the attackers attacked the villages at around 7:30 pm on Saturday night, dragging the victims from their homes with their hands and legs tied before killing them.

The victims of the attack were all men, including a 19-year-old student.

The security forces of Lamu County came to the scene of the murder a few minutes later, but no one was arrested.

The county commissioner, Louis Rono, said he was aware of the attack in Salama village but did not give further details.

The incident is the latest in the area as efforts are underway to tackle the threat of terrorism.
