A citizen of Burundi has been directly linked to the recent attack by Al-Shabaab in the area of Janna Abdalle under the city of Kismayo.
The Al-Shabaab group said that the attack that took place on the 7th of this month in the area of Janaa Abdalle, was behind a Burundian man from the area of Kibimba.
A suicide attack and a direct attack by al-Shabaab in the area of Janay Abdalle, caused the death of at least 5 soldiers and a number of civilians.
The attacker was identified as Dnayizeye Ishaq Khalid, known as “Showkaani”, who is from the Hutu tribe of the country.
Dnayizeye came to Somalia 7 years ago. Al-Shabaab said it was coordinating the group’s activities across the country and borders based on its “expertise” in handling explosives.
Kenyan and Tanzanian citizens of al-Shabaab have already carried out an attack targeting the Manda Airbase in Kenya, which has resulted in the death of at least 3 Americans.
