A suicide attack and a direct attack by al-Shabaab in the area of ​​Janay Abdalle, caused the death of at least 5 soldiers and a number of civilians.

The attacker was identified as Dnayizeye Ishaq Khalid, known as “Showkaani”, who is from the Hutu tribe of the country.

Dnayizeye came to Somalia 7 years ago. Al-Shabaab said it was coordinating the group’s activities across the country and borders based on its “expertise” in handling explosives.
