A man of Somali origin has stabbed two Jewish men in London, according to Reuters.
London police said the attack took place in the Golders Green neighborhood of north London and was being treated as a terrorist attack targeting Jews. The two men, aged 76 and 34, were taken to hospital and are in stable condition.
The attacker, a 45-year-old British national of Somali origin, was arrested after being tasered by police officers, police said.
Preliminary investigations also suggest the suspect was involved in another violent incident in southeast London on the same day, in which another person was slightly injured. London police chief Mark Rowley said the suspect had a history of serious violence and mental health problems.
The incident comes at a time of increasing anti-Semitic attacks in the UK, raising concerns about the safety of the Jewish community. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other leaders have called for urgent measures to strengthen security.
The British government has pledged to step up security efforts, although some onlookers have expressed anger, accusing the police of failing to protect the community.
