The warrant and the case against Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe have all been suspended and closed.

The Banadir Regional Court has officially revoked and annulled the arrest warrant previously issued against the President of the Jubbaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madoobe).

A letter from the Court’s office stated that this decision was based on the criminal case filed against Ahmed Mohamed Islam, referring to Articles 70/1 B/2, 76, 77 and 107/3 of the Somali Penal Code and the Interim Constitution.

According to the court’s letter, any previous arrest and production order related to the case MGB/DCL/1531/2024 has now been annulled, and the official decision was reached on 29 January 2026.

The court noted that this step reflects the protection of the legal rights and obligations of the country’s judicial institutions, with all legal measures related to this case being carried out in accordance with the laws of the country.

This will pave the way for Ahmed Madobe to travel to Mogadishu to attend the February 1 meeting between the Federal Government and the Somali Future Council.
