Former President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo, returned to Mogadishu today, after years of absence from the country.
Farmaajo was warmly welcomed at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu by MPs, politicians and various sections of the society who supported him.
The return of former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo was long awaited, and this official had been absent from the country for more than 2 years and was in exile.
Farmaajo’s arrival in Mogadishu is related to political issues, especially elections, as the country is soon going to enter a very difficult election for the presidency of Somalia.
Former President Farmaajo is also planning to start political meetings in Mogadishu, which will focus on the current political situation and constitutional issues.
In the coming days, the political contest for the next president of Somalia will officially begin in the capital city of Mogadishu, and it is noteworthy that the largest number of organizations and new alliances have been formed, ready to strongly challenge the current leaders in power in the country.
