A statement issued by the Galmudug regional state security ministry has banned the import of military vehicles, especially the type known as Abdi Bilaha, from the Hubyo port in Mudug region.

The statement issued by the Galmudug security ministry stated that from today onwards, Toyota 4WD vehicles known as Abdi Bilaha have been banned from being imported or shipped from Hobyo port.

“The Galmudug security ministry today, October 21, 2025, announced a ban on the import of Toyota 4WD vehicles known as Abdibilaha, and starting from today, they will not be allowed to be shipped to or from Hobyo port,” the statement said.

The ministry warned all institutions and companies operating in Galmudug areas not to be involved in the import or shipment of these banned vehicles, and said that anyone found in this matter will be considered to be working with terrorist groups.

However, this decision by the Galmudug Ministry of Security is similar to the one recently issued by the Hirshabelle administration, which banned the entry of weapons, vehicles, and the military into its areas.

This move by the Galmudug and Hirshabelle administrations appears likely to exacerbate the political tension between opposition politicians and the leaders of these administrations as they prepare for elections.
