The Somali Armed Forces Court executed two men from Al-Shabaab militants early this morning.
The two men who were executed this morning were identified as Ibrahim Adan Madeey and Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, known within the group as Maaxi and Yoonis, who are members of the group’s units called Jabhada and ambush killings.
The men are said to have previously committed murders in Mogadishu, and the court has previously heard the case against the two men, which it had previously submitted to the Office of the Prosecutor.
The scene where the men were executed was attended by the Supreme Court of the Armed Forces, and the sentence the two men gave to the court president was in retaliation for the people they had previously killed.
However, the killing of these Al-Shabaab members is still ongoing, as the Military Court has recently increased the number of executions by firing squad, and it is worth noting that other men who have already been sentenced and others who are awaiting trial are still in prison.
