The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti, Abdulkadir Hussein Omar, and a delegation he led at the Presidential Palace.
The meeting between President Hassan Sheikh and the delegation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti discussed the need for both sides to further strengthen the strategic relations between Somalia and Djibouti, which are based on brotherhood and deep cooperation, especially in the areas of security and regional affairs.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti also conveyed to the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, greetings and messages from his counterpart, the President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh.
“During the meeting, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud shared with the Minister the general situation in the country, especially the ongoing efforts for reconstruction, development and operations to eradicate the Khawarij of ISIS and Al-Shabaab, thanking the people and the Government of Djibouti for their brotherly support for their Somali brothers,” a statement from the Somali Presidential Palace said.
Djibouti’s Foreign Minister Abdulkadir Hussein Omar, for his part, expressed his deep gratitude for the brotherly welcome extended to him and his delegation in Mogadishu, which was his first visit since being appointed to this position in April 2025.
