The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, met at the Somali Presidential Palace with a delegation led by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan.
The meeting focused on strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries, and discussed in particular the economic and security aspects.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates conveyed to President Hassan Sheikh a special message from the President of the United Arab Emirates, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan for his visit and the support shown by the people and government of the UAE to the Somali people.
The President, in turn, sent a special message to his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stressing Somalia’s commitment to further strengthening its efforts to ensure security, democratization and development in the country.
