Somali President Hassan Sheikh receives Sudanese Intelligence Chief at the Presidential Palace.

The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today received at the National Presidential Palace in Villa Somalia the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese General Intelligence Service, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim Ali Mufaddal.

During the meeting, Maj. Gen. Mufaddal conveyed to the President an official message from the Chairman of the Transitional Revolutionary Council of Sudan, His Excellency Abdil Fatah Al-Burhan.

The message expressed the Sudanese government’s commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation between Somalia and Sudan, especially in the areas of security, intelligence, economy and matters of common interest.

The meeting was also attended by the Director General of the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Mahad Mohamed Salad.

The two sides discussed in depth the importance of close cooperation between the intelligence agencies of the two countries, in order to address regional security challenges.

The Somali President thanked Sudan for always standing by Somalia, and stressed the importance of finding genuine cooperation that serves peace and stability in the region.
