The Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education of the Federal Government of Somalia has today officially announced the results of the National Secondary School Certificate Examination for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Ministry announced that the number of students who sat for the 2024-2025 academic year was 38,471, with 32,714 students passing and 5,757 failing.
The first place in this year’s National Examination was taken by a girl named Aaisha Adan Ugaas Hirsi, who graduated from SOS School in the Banadir region.
Aisha Adan Ugaas scored an average of 91.99%, making her the highest-achieving student in the country in the 2024-2025 school year. Khalid Abdinur Hussein, who scored an average of 91.99%, was a student at Markabley School, a high school in the Jubbaland state.
Officials from the Ministry of Education commended the successful students for their efforts and achievements, while also encouraging students who did not pass this year to prepare for other educational opportunities.
The results, announced today by the Ministry of Education, show the fierce competition in the country’s high schools, with many students aspiring to be the student who will take first place.
