Banadir Regional Police Offer Reward to Anyone Who Reports on Groups Throwing Mortars at Xamar City

The Banadir Regional Police Chief, Mr. Moalim Mahdi, said he wants the people of Mogadishu, especially those from other districts, to provide complete information about those who launch mortars from those districts.

The chief promised that anyone who provides information that could lead to the identification or arrest of the groups involved in the mortar attacks on the capital, Mogadishu, will be given a monetary reward.

Mr. Mahdi emphasized that the reward will amount to Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000), and he called on the public to cooperate with the security forces.

When asked by the media whether the military would receive anything from the reward if they provided information about the groups or arrested them, he indicated that anyone from the public or the military who provides reliable information about the groups that are used to launching mortar attacks that sometimes attack the capital will be given the reward.

Finally, the Banadir Regional Police Commander announced that the public should not pay attention to individuals who he said were tarnishing the reputation of the stability and security in the capital, Mogadishu.
