The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today in Mogadishu bid farewell to units of the active/armed forces of the National Security and Intelligence Agency (NISA).

The NISA forces have been identified as those who have been specially trained in the fight against terrorist groups.

In a press release from the Somali Presidency, it was stated that these forces have special skills related to planned attacks and the destruction of the holes where the leaders and militiamen of the so-called terrorist groups are hiding.

“These forces, trained by experts from the Turkish government, will officially join the ongoing operations in the country to eradicate the Khawarij groups and to ensure the security, order and stability of the country,” said the press release issued by the Somali Presidency.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud called on the Somali people to stand by the national forces in the fight against Daesh and Al-Shabaab, and thanked the Turkish government for its continuous support with the Somali government, especially the construction and strengthening of the forces.

Farewell to these forces specially trained to fight the so-called terrorist groups is coming, as in the last few weeks, battles against Al-Sababaab and Daesh have been going on in Hiran and Bari regions.
