Somaliland and Ethiopia discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of military and security.
The Minister of Defense of Somaliland, Mohamed Yusuf Ali, and the representative of Ethiopia in Hargeisa, Ambassador Teshome Shunde Hamito, together with General Dagdi and Col. Abara, discussed the promotion of military cooperation.
“The Minister of the Ministry of Defense JSL and the Ambassador of Ethiopia to Somaliland discussed the cooperation in the field of military and security between Somaliland and Ethiopia,” said a statement from the Ministry of Defense.
Somaliland and Ethiopia have had security cooperation for some time, with the border between them being the most secure in terms of the borders that Ethiopia shares with its other neighbors.
Also, Ethiopia helps Somaliland in the construction of the army, by training thousands of soldiers every year in the military and police.
