The discussions between the delegations from Ethiopia and the Somali leaders reached an understanding on the stability of the Horn of Africa.

A high-level delegation from the Ethiopian government led by the Minister of Defense of Ethiopia Egn. Aisha Mohamed concluded an official working visit to Mogadishu, which is a step to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

During their visit, the delegation held talks with the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, while delivering a message from the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed. The talks are based on the strengthening of deep cooperation to ensure peace and stability in the region.

Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to peace in the region and agreed on cooperative measures to support the AUSSOM mission.

A plan was also put in place to facilitate high-level visits between Addis Ababa and Mogadishu, which they said would strengthen diplomatic and defense ties.

The Minister of Defense of Somalia, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur Jama, thanked the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the role of the Ethiopian Defense Forces in the stability of Somalia.

This visit follows a recent trip to Ethiopia by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, H.E. Ali Mohamed Omar, while holding talks with the leaders of Ethiopia, strengthened the ongoing cooperation.
