A statement issued by the Office of the Director General of the Somali Immigration Agency, Mustaf Sheikh Ali Dhuxulow, said that the Somali Immigration and Citizenship Agency announced that for a period of three months, starting from January 1 to March 31, 2025, temporary suspension of passport data modification activities, especially those related to canceling or changing information in the passport.
The statement said that this decision, which the agency said is based on the development and improvement of the Somali passport, is intended to review the procedures and techniques related to the modification of passport data.
“Based on the development and improvement of the Somali passport, the Immigration and Nationality Agency informs Somali citizens everywhere that for a period of three months starting from January 1 to March 31, 2025 as a temporary suspend the amendment of passport data so that the agency has the opportunity to review the process, procedures and technical activities regarding the amendment of passport data to protect, and improve the reputation of the passport of the Federal Republic of Somalia.” said in the statement issued by the agency.
The public has been informed that this Temporary Suspension will not affect the amendment of letters to conform to the official documents.
The agency pointed out that this is a step taken to protect and promote the reputation of the Somali passport in the world.
