A very strong fight broke out this afternoon in the southern areas of Sanaag region, between the Somaliland forces and the SSC-Khaatumo.
Both sides presented prisoners they had captured, but the real damage caused by the war this afternoon is not yet known. Only on social media are the sounds of gunshots and gunshots being used by both sides.
The SSC-Khatumo forces tried to take over areas in the Sanaag region and the city of Eerigabo, where their forces recently entered. After two days of fighting, they left the city, and some of their troops were captured.
The ongoing fighting follows earlier clashes between the two sides in Lasaanood and other areas in Sool, Sanaag, and Togdheer regions. Somaliland and SSC-Khatumo are blaming each other for the responsibility of this renewed conflict and it is not yet predictable where it will end.
The president of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, who previously said that he wanted a diplomatic solution to the conflict, is now facing intense pressure as a result of the ongoing war in those regions.
