The government of Somalia and Anfara have exchanged the first prisoners captured in the wars and conflict between the two regions as announced by the Ministry of Peace in Ethiopia.
The plan to hand over these prisoners was worked together by the Ministry of Peace, the two local governments, the Federal Police and the Ethiopian Military.
On the Somali side, the released prisoners were widely welcomed in the major cities of the Siti region of the Somali Regional Government, while on the other hand, the public welcomed the plan to release the prisoners.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Peace of Ethiopia said that the conflict between the Somali Regional Government and Anfara will be ended through dialogue to find a lasting solution to this conflict, and to expand the opportunities for negotiation so that there is no return of conflict between the two regions.
Also, the security officials of the two regional governments said that an agreement has been reached on the conflict between Somalis and Africans, noting on the other hand that they are working together to find a lasting solution to the recurring conflicts, and the communities of the two regions to live together in peace.
The conflict between Somalis and Africans has resulted in the death of many people on both sides, as well as various problems, including severe displacement of the people living in the cities and areas where the conflict existed.
The exchange of prisoners by both sides is expected to end the long conflict between Somalia and Africa, while on the other hand it has given great hope for peace to the people of the two regions that have been in conflict and war for a long time.
