Puntland has condemned a new map that it says the Federal Government of Somalia has disputed in regions and districts under its administration.
A press release issued by the Puntland Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that this is an insult to the Puntland Constitution, the reconciliation process and the Somali Government.
Puntland said that the map published by the government on social media is a prelude to disputes over the exploration and extraction of the country’s resources, which it said was not agreed upon, and the map was secretly given to companies and countries that did not follow the legal process.
“This new delimitation shows that it is disrupting Unity, Solidarity, Stability and development projects in Puntland Regions,” said the news from Puntland.
The President of Puntland, speaking at the session of the Puntland Parliament, warned that the measures could cause instability and delays in the unity, solidarity and government building of Somalia.
Deni said that part of the map was violated for the unity of Somalia, after Somaliland was recognized as an independent state. He called on the Federal Government to apologize and apologize.
