The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Salah Ahmed Jama, strongly opposed the move by the Speaker of the Upper House yesterday to deprive him of the seat of the Upper House Council.

Salah Ahmed Jama described the action taken by the Speaker of the Upper House Abdi Hashi as illegal and against the country’s constitution.

“I confirm that the letter issued by Governor Abdi Hashi has no legal basis and it has nothing to do with it,” said Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia Salah Ahmed Jama.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia, Salah Ahmed Jama, also denied that he was absent from all the meetings of the Upper House Council, and said that he participated in the meetings of the Upper House Council and Joint Meetings held by the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

However, the dismissal of Salah Ahmed Jama has caused a strong debate in the House of Representatives, and reports are saying that Ibrahim Idle Suleiman, who previously served as the chairman of the Supreme Court, is going to be appointed to his seat.
