Acting Special Envoy of the United Nations in charge of Somalia, James Swan who is still in the process of meeting with the Somali leaders today held talks with the President of Jubbaland Ahmed Mohamed Islaam (Ahmed Madobe).

The meeting focused on issues such as efforts to build a government in Somalia, ongoing plans against the Al-Shabaab group and preparations for the upcoming National Consultative Assembly meeting.

According to reports received by Warsom Media, the United Nations Ambassador told Ahmed Madobe to return to the meeting of the National Consultative Council.

This visit follows a previous discussion between Swan and senior officials of the Federal Government of Somalia (DFS), which was about the lack of results that ended in the meeting of the National Consultative Council.

James emphasized the importance of maintaining the relationship between President Madobe, DFS, and other heads of State Governments (FMS), to effectively resolve the back issues of the National Consultative Council and the unity of the country. .

On the other hand, a brief press release from the Jubbaland presidency said that the meeting between Swan and Ahmed Madobe discussed the general political situation in the country, the exit of ATMIS and other issues.

The President of Jubbaland recently withdrew from the meeting of the National Consultative Council, after he objected to a decision on the country’s election.
