The Federal Government of Somalia has released an exaggerated propaganda video of Al-Shabaab, which has been presented by new fighters who have received training.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, said on his Twitter account that the video of this group shows that the Somali armed forces have changed Al-Shabaab from real fighters to Hollywood actors.
“I saw some terrorist group making a propaganda video & exaggeration. It is proof that they are hiding their weaknesses in a well-produced film. On the other hand, it is our national forces that made Al-Shabaab into Hollywood fighters,” said Ahmed Fiqi.
The Somali government’s statement came hours after Al-Shabaab released a video that lasted for hours, which shows its fighters conducting military exercises, while the related media said that this video was translated on the 7th.
The dissemination of this video seems to be aimed at Al-Shabaab to recruit more fighters from the region as it has been translated into seven languages including Somali, English, Arabic, Amharic, Oromo, Swahili and French.
