The Kenyan government has released a report saying that terrorist attacks in its country have decreased by 6.5%, compared to the years 2022 to 2023.

Kenya said that the security forces also arrested 59 people involved in terrorist activities.

The report indicates that Mandera, Lamu, Garissa and Wajir are the areas most affected by terrorism, but they have decreased, after Kenya doubled its security operations.

“These regions are vulnerable to terrorism because they border Somalia, where the terrorist group Al-Shabaab is based,” said the report from Kenya.

Kenya also said it has established centers in the North-East and Lamu region to weaken the remnants of al-Shabaab hiding in the Boni Forest and other remote areas including the Kenya-Somalia border.
