The Court of Appeal of the Banadir region, today concluded the second hearing of the case and the defense of the judge Sayid Ali Macallin Daoud.
The court said that it is waiting for the final decision on the sentence of the accused, after listening to the case of the prosecutor and the defense lawyers representing the accused.
Abukate Ali Halane, who is the lawyer representing Sayid Ali Maallin Daoud, said that he hopes that the appeal court will issue a different decision than the one issued by the Banadir regional court.
Halane said that if they are not satisfied with the judgment of the Court of Appeal, they will go to the Supreme Court of the country. He believes that the accused did not burn his wife.
The deputy prosecutor, Yahye Mohamud Saeed, also said that Sayid Ali is the culprit who burned his wife. saying that there is a need for the court to announce the verdict.
He said the information received from the doctors, the reports of the witnesses and the burns on the body of the accused prove the crime of Sayid Ali.
However, the highly anticipated decision of the appeals court is expected to be announced this week.
