The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh, has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya to participate in the African Presidents’ Conference and the World Bank which will be held on April 29, 2024.
The conference, organized by the International Development Agency (IDA) under the World Bank, will focus on the development and investment of the African continent, and how to strengthen it through major development projects.
The Presidency of Somalia said that President Hassan Sheikh will have special meetings with African leaders and officials from the International Development Agency, to speed up cooperation between Somalia and international financial institutions.
The Presidency said that the President’s trip coincided with the forgiveness of Somalia’s long-term debt, giving the country an opportunity to attract investments and development projects.
About ten presidents from the continent of Africa are expected to participate in this conference.
