43 people who were crossing the Tana River in Garisa in the North East region of Kenya were killed.
The people who traveled from Nairobi, are said to have boarded a boat from Kona Punda area near the road that connects Garisa city to Madogo area in the North East region.
A flood caused by the heavy rains that have fallen in Kenya these days and the Tana river breaking its banks, is thought to have caused the boat that these people were traveling in to drown, and there is no accurate information about the lives of the people who traveled.
The Kenya Red Cross said in a report that the boat they were traveling with is thought to have capsized when it tried to cross the Tana River.
The people who are with them are from Garisa, and they were people who wanted to return to their homes, as there is an emergency in Kenya due to heavy rains that caused heavy floods.
