The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, paid an official visit to the city of Dar es Salaam, the capital of Tanzania, and the headquarters of the East African Union, which Somalia recently joined.

The President will participate in the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the union of Tanzania and its nationhood. While he is there, President Hassan Sheikh is scheduled to hold meetings with Tanzanian officials.

The talks are set to discuss many issues, including the development of relations between the two countries, the acceleration of Somalia’s integration into the economic structure of the Horn of Africa, and the development of economic and investment cooperation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, who is part of the president’s delegation, said that the two countries will enter into agreements on information, justice and foreign affairs.

Minister Fiqi said that the agreements to be signed are those that were presented in the last meetings of the cabinet.
