A declaration of peace has been issued in the conflict in Mudug region, between two communities from the south of Mudug (Galmudug) and Galdogob district (Puntland).

Officials of the federal government of Somalia including the government and the parliament participated in the conclusion of a meeting to strengthen the ceasefire between the two communities.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi and the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Fardowso Osman Igal, who represented the two communities, were part of the peace efforts to strengthen the end of the conflict.

The statement issued by the meeting said that the cease-fire that had already been announced should be strengthened. It was agreed to gather for a peace meeting within a week, which will be hosted by the Saad community from which the Minister of Fiqi is from.

However, there is a conflict between the two communities based on the ownership of the area, and it is a repeated and bloody one, and no official solution has been reached yet.

In 2020, the foundation of peace was laid in Galdogob district and a peace agreement was reached between the people who were killed as a result of the conflict between these two neighbors.
