The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, today held a meeting in his office in Mogadishu with members of the Parliament of the Regional Organization for Economic Cooperation in East Africa who arrived in Mogadishu today.
The prime minister first thanked the East African countries that are members of this organization for their role in approving Somalia’s membership in this organization.
Hamse Abdi Barre presented at the meeting the importance of quickly completing the technical issues that ensure cooperation with Somalia in the East African market.
“I urge the members of the EAC Regional Organization to continue supporting efforts to harmonize policies and regulations, to create a favorable business environment for investors and entrepreneurs. They should continue to strengthen cooperation in regional security and the promotion of peace and stability.” said Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre.
The Prime Minister also presented at the meeting the contribution of Somalia to the membership of the East African Regional Organization and the opportunities of the countries that are united in this market to inherit from Somalia’s membership.
“Since we are a rich country with natural resources, and its people are active and creative, many things will be gained from the membership of Somalia,” said Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre.
