The governments of Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq and Yemen have jointly opposed Israel’s decision to recognize Somaliland, describing the move as a clear violation of international law and the principles of the United Nations, and a threat to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said its country fully supports the independence and unity of Somalia, reiterating that Israel’s decision is unacceptable.

The Jordanian government also issued a statement, describing Israel’s recognition as a violation of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a violation of international law.

Jordan called on the international community to prevent any unilateral action that threatens peace and stability in the Horn of Africa.

Iraq, which currently leads the Arab League, strongly condemned the move, describing it as a threat to regional security and stability, and a violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Yemen also joined other countries in condemning the move, stressing the importance of protecting Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and calling on the international community and international organizations to take a clear stance against the illegal measures.

These measures demonstrate the Arab countries’ opposition to Israel’s plan to recognize Somaliland, calling for the protection of international legitimacy and the unity of Somalia.
