Condemnation – Somali People’s Political Organization
The Somali People’s Union strongly condemns the statement by Israeli government officials that they recognize part of the Federal Republic of Somalia as an “independent country”. This statement is clearly contrary to International Law, the Charter of the United Nations, and the principle of respect for the unity, sovereignty, and borders of countries around the world.
The Somali People’s Union affirms that the Federal Republic of Somalia is a unified, independent country with inalienable territory and borders. Every part of the territory of Somalia is an inalienable national asset, and no foreign party can decide the fate of the territory and the unity of the country.
Finally, the Somali People’s Union calls on the international community to respect the independence and unity of Somalia, and to refrain from actions and statements that harm the stability, peace, and unity of the Somali nation.
