The Government of Somalia and the Government of Turkey have signed the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation and Development of Marine Production that they previously agreed upon, which is important for the protection and development of marine resources (Blue Economy).
The Minister of Fisheries and Blue Economy of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Hassan Adan, signed the agreement with the Turkish company OYAK in Ankara.
The aim of the agreement is to strengthen the protection of marine resources, increase fish production, and encourage direct investment in the infrastructure of the Somali coastal economy.
The signing ceremony, which took place at the headquarters of OYAK, was attended by senior officials from both sides, including the Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, and the Director General of the Ministry of Fisheries, Abdi Diirshe.
The Turkish side was represented by officials from the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, and the senior management of OYAK.
Finally, the Minister of Fisheries and Blue Economy of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Hassan Aden, praised the Turkish government and the OYAK company for their demonstration of the growth of investment in Somalia and the stability that has been achieved in the country.
