A reshuffle has been carried out in the Cabinet of the Federal Government of Somalia.

Somali Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre today reshuffled his cabinet, adding new members, and removing two ministers who had been part of the Dan Qaran government.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohamed Barre Mohamud, and the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Fardowsa Osman Cigaal, were removed from their posts and appointed new ministers, who had been part of the government led by Prime Minister Hamse.

Three ministers were reshuffled and transferred to their respective ministries, while two ministers were removed from their posts. New deputy ministers, some of whom are MPs, were also added to the cabinet, and those who previously held those positions were removed.

Among the changes that caught the eye was the removal of Somalia’s longest-serving Minister of Defense, Abdukadir Mohamed Nur, who was appointed Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport in Somalia.

The new members of the JFS Government are as follows:-

1. Mr. Jibriil Abdirashid Haji Abdi Minister of Defense.
2. Mr. Abdiqadir Mohamed Nur – Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport.
3. Mr. Mahmoud Ahmed Aden (Geesood) – Minister of Commerce and Industry.
4. Mr. Mohamed Farah Nuux – Minister of Transport and Aviation.
5. Mr. Mohamed Abdiqadir Ali – Minister of Youth and Sports.
6. Mr. Mahmoud Abdiqadir Haji (Jeego) – Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation.

7. Mw. Sahuur Haaji Culusow Xasan – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Water.
8. Md. Sulub Ahmed Firin – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Security.
9. Md. Mahmoud Abdullahi Ahmed (Abukaate) – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
10. Mw. Aamina Hussein Ali – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
11. Md. Hussein Ali Haaji – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
12. Mw. Fartuun Abdiqadir Farah – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport.
13. Md. Mohamed Adan Mohamed (Baydhabo Janaay) – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Planning, Investment & Economic Development.
14. Md. Mohamed Hussein Abuukar (Gaaraxo) – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing.
15. Mw. Dahabo Suusow Muunye – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
16. Mr. Osman Ahmed Macow – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
