The former President of Somalia Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, the former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre and the MP Abdirahman Abdishakur issued a joint statement strongly opposing the decisions of the National Consultative Council meeting in Mogadishu.
The work of these politicians was condemned at the time of the increase decided in the meeting of the national consultative council which was made for the heads of the regional administrations of the country, and they said that it is very unfortunate that President Hassan Sheikh is trampling on the constitution of the country.
“The decision leads to security and political instability in the country, and it threatens the process of building peace and governance in Somalia.
We therefore declare to the Somali people and the international community that we will never accept any kind of extension of time,” the newspaper said.
The work of these politicians has also been praised by the president of the Jubbaland administration, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, Madobe, who on his part has clearly rejected the extension, saying that his administration is free to hold elections.
The leaders of Galmudug, Hirshabeelle, and South West regions have been warned by the press that they will repent of the extension of time and hold the elections.
“We are warning the Federal Parliament to pass laws that are against the constitution, which undermines the unity and solidarity of the country, and an illegal extension of time that serves personal political ambitions. The Parliament should take admonition from the experience “Inherited the implementation of the greed of the President and where it ended” was said in the newspaper.
