The Peace and Security Council of the African Union (PSC) will meet next week for a session to review the new African Union Mission in Somalia after the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
This session which was originally scheduled for 25 July was postponed twice. It is expected to discuss how to get financial support for this mission called the mission to stabilize and support Somalia in the AU (AUSSOM).
The African Union Peace Commission will receive reports from the Special Envoy of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission in Somalia and the Head of ATMIS, Mohamed El-Amine Souef.
It is expected that the post-ATMIS mission will consist of 11,911 personnel, consisting of 85 civilians, 11,146 military personnel and 680 police personnel, and will be deployed in 4 departments.
The way the operation will be is that it will be selected from the current forces or will be added to new forces and the countries where the troops are in Somalia (TCCs).
The new post-ATMIS mission is expected to last for four years.
