The Federal Government of Somalia has officially announced that it needs the land of the Bulusiya School cemetery in Mogadishu.
Officials such as the Minister of Defense of Somalia, the Commander of the Somali Police Force, the Deputy Commissioner of Security of the Banadir region and Ulama’udin who went to the Police School Cemetery called for the immediate removal of the buried people from the graves.
Minister of Defense Abdulkadir Mohamed Noor who spoke to the media about the cemetery said that the cemetery was a government owned land and now it is to be made into a command center for the Somali Navy and Coastal forces.
“The land needed by the government starts from the entrance of the Marino Gate airport to the Yerdemeli hospital and it was already a land of public interest owned by the government, and now the government has a lot of needs, and the taxi of the Navy and Coastal Army will be built. Somalia” said Defense Minister Abduqadir Mahamee Nur.
Somali Police Commander Sulub Ahmed Firin and Deputy Commissioner of Security and Politics of Banadir Mohamed Yabooh told the media that the families of their relatives buried in those graves will be given 10 days to go out.
The scholars who spoke there, among them Sheikh Ali Wajis and Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Salad, said that when religious people looked at the government’s action from many angles, it did not harm them.
Finally, at the beginning of May this year, it was revealed that the government needs the land of the Bulusiya school cemetery to remove the bodies, and at that time the body of Abdi Muriidi Ajakis, may God have mercy on him, was removed from the cemetery and buried by his children in another place, but at that time The government denied that it ordered the bodies to be removed from the area.
There are also complaints and reports saying that money has been requested from people who were informed to evacuate their relatives from the Police School Cemetery, and there is no information related to the money from either the Banadir regional government or the Federal Government.
