The Galmudug regional government said that they will hold accountable the individuals who are fueling the conflict in the Galmudug region, while the administration said that they will get the names of these individuals.
Galmudug security minister, Mohamed Abdi Adan Gabobe, said that the conflict between the warring clans in Galgaduud region cannot be tolerated, and he said that there are people who are leading the conflict.
Minister Gabobe said that some of the soldiers who were sent to intervene between the two fighting tribal militias were killed. He said, anyone involved in this conflict will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
According to the security minister of Galmudug administration, more than 50 people died and many others were injured in yesterday’s fighting and clashes in Landheer area of Galgaduud region.
The government of Somalia issued a press release on this conflict and instructed the security agencies of the government of Somalia and the Galmudug administration to quickly intervene between the warring parties.
The ongoing conflict between the two communities is based on a territorial dispute. They are fighting over an empty land that no one lives in.
The two warring parties are from the towns of Abudwaq and Herale.
