The spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abukar Mohamed Hassan, gave more details about the latest operations in the country.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Defense said that last week, the army carried out operations against the Al-Shabaab group in various areas of the Shabelle region, Hiraan, Galgaduud, Bay and Bakool.
He also said that the government forces have inflicted heavy losses on the Al-Shabaab group and destroyed the shelters that the group used to organize attacks in those regions.
“The army of the country has set foot in a place for the Al-Shabaab militia to gather children and people from Miiga and take the money,” said the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense, Abukar Mohamed Hassan.
Finally, the spokesperson of the Ministry did not mention the official number of Al-Shabaab group killed in the last week’s operations in the country, in addition he said that the group suffered heavy losses.
