The United States government said it was not involved in the bombing attack that took place in the Almadow mountains of Sanaag region.
The VOA Somali radio station said that the US command in Africa told them in a written message that there were no attacks by the US forces.
This news came a few days after the Somali government said that more than 20 members of al-Shabaab were killed in an operation in the Alamdow mountains.
The Somali government said that the attack was carried out by international friends, but did not mention the name of the government that carried out the operation targeting Al-Shabaab.
Puntland rejected the government’s claim that the Somali armed forces took part in the operation.
The Minister of Information of Puntland, Mohamud Ayidi Dirir, said that their administration is in control of those areas, and the federal government does not have the ability to carry out operations in those areas.
The minister admitted that it was confirmed that there were explosions, but he said that they are against the federal government’s claim that it has carried out or is carrying out something.
