The Somali Police forces have greatly strengthened the security of the checkpoints entering the capital city of Mogadishu.
The checkpoints were examined today in a different investigation than in the past, and the investigation included the mine detection team and dogs trained to sniff out explosives.
“The task force and training of Mogadishu city controls and the mine investigation team, especially the explosive sniffing animals, are doing a good job in controlling the entry into Mogadishu city and its surroundings,” said a news release from the Somali Police Command.
This move by the forces to strengthen security in Mogadishu coincides with the fact that yesterday the US government in Mogadishu issued warnings that terrorist attacks may occur in some parts of Mogadishu this week.
Finally, the security of Mogadishu has been much better in recent times in terms of attacks and explosions by the Al-Shabaab group in Mogadishu.
