The US Embassy in Somalia has issued a security alert, advising US citizens in Mogadishu to exercise extra caution next week.
In a statement issued by the US Embassy in Somalia, US citizens were told that terrorist attacks can happen suddenly.
The United States did not specify where the danger is coming from, but the places it warned its citizens about include airports, government buildings, and hotels.
It was a month ago when all the movements of the US embassy staff in Mogadishu were restricted, due to the fact that the United States received security information about attacks that Al-Shabaab were planning to carry out in Mogadishu.
The United States says emergency services for US citizens in Somalia are severely limited due to the lack of a permanent consular presence in Somalia.
