The Federal Government of Somalia has welcomed the decision of the United Nations Security Council to impose sanctions on three leaders of Al-Shabaab, according to resolution number 2713.
The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, Daoud Aweis Jama praised this decision.
“The Federal Government of Somalia applauds the decision of the United Nations Security Council to sanction three of the leaders of Al-Shabaab at our request. “These individuals are now on the sanctions list under Resolution 2713, facing economic sanctions and travel bans,” said Minister Daoud.
This issue came three days after the Security Council imposed sanctions on three of Al-Shabaab’s top leaders, who were accused of participating in financing, planning, facilitating and preparing Al-Shabaab activities.
