Iran’s media has announced the death of the country’s president, Ibrahim Ra’isi, his foreign minister and officials who were accompanying him, all died in a helicopter crash in the mountainous region of East Azerbaijan in Iran.

The helicopter crash was linked to the weather in the mountains which was very bad and there was fog in the mountains, and it was also indicated that the plane that crashed was made in the United States and was a Bell 212 helicopter.

President Ibrahim Ra’isi, who was 63 years old, was elected as the president of Iran in 2021, and Ra’isi was seen as a replacement for Ayatollah Khamenei, who has been the country’s supreme leader since 1989.

Officials who also died in the accident with the Iranian president, whose names have been confirmed, include Hussein Amir Abdullahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Malik Rahmati, who was the governor of the eastern region of Iran in Azerbaijan, and Sardar Seyed Mehdi Mousavi, the commander of the Presidential Guard, Seyyed Mohamed Al Hashem. was the man in charge of the law in the city of Tabriz in Iran.
