Hour by hour, the fear of breaking the Shabelle River in Baledweyne, the capital of Hiraan region, is increasing.
The community living in Kooshin and Bundaweyn neighborhoods have managed to close off areas in those neighborhoods that are on the brink of water coming out.
The places that the people of those neighborhoods succeeded in closing are Bilsidid and Noor Makal, and it is said that those places were broken by groups profiting from the floods, according to the people of those neighborhoods.
The Shabelle River that runs through Baledweyne is currently full of water, with the current water level at its highest level, and it can be expected to flood parts of Baledweyne in the coming hours.
The fear of flooding is approaching, as the people of Baledweyne have not yet recovered from the flood that hit Baledweyne at the end of last year in 2023.
