The Court of Appeal of Banadir Region today sentenced Sayid-Ali Macallin Daoud to death who was accused of burning his pregnant wife to death.
The Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of the Banadir regional court, which had already sentenced Sayid Ali to death.
The court said that the accused Sayid Ali was found guilty of the alleged crime, and therefore his sentence will be a sentence of capital murder.
She said that this judgment is open to appeal to the Supreme Court of the country.
The lawyer representing the accused, named Abukaate Ali Halane, said that they are not satisfied with the court’s verdict saying that they will appeal the verdict.
On the other hand, the family of the late Luul Abdicasis greatly welcomed the verdict of the appeal court, describing it as a just verdict that they were waiting for.
