The government of Somaliland announced today that the number of people living in its areas has reached 6.2 million.
According to a statement from the Somaliland Cabinet meeting held today at the presidential office, it was said that the population of Somaliland has increased to over 6 million.
“The number of people living in the Republic of Somaliland, which is currently 6.2 million, the government is working to provide them with comprehensive services,” the presidential statement said.
According to a report released in 2021, the number of people at that time was 5.7, and the number of people joined by 500,000 people according to today’s report.
The government did not say how it got the data on the number of people, and there is no real census that has been done by the government.
